Self Portrait Richard D. Cole

In an attempt to streamline things I have created this “new” blog within my website, rather than using the old blog that was hosted on Blogger.  I didn’t have anything against Blogger, I am just too technically challenged to figure out how to incorporate the existing blog into my website.  Also, in the old blog I simply showcased photos and in this blog I hope to give more explanations of the equipment that I use and how I use it.  If you have any questions or comments, please email me.

About this photo:

This is a self portrait that I took using my Canon Xsi (this model is not made any more… newer model is Canon EOS Rebel T3i) with a Canon EF-S 18-200mm lens (1/60 5.6).  I used the Canon RC remote to fire the camera.  The backdrop is a portable system from Backdrop-Alley.  The strobes were the Elinchrom Ranger RX Speed AS set up with a main light with softbox, side fill light and a hair light with snoot.  I then edited the photo in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
